So something interesting. Spoke to my uncle in Tokyo last night over the phone, we told him about what we’ve been hearing over the news about Japan, and he said the situation is bad there, it’s nowhere near the “end of the world” scenario the foreign media has been reporting.

He said Tokyo is fine, and besides the rolling blackouts and shortage of certain supplies it’s pretty much normal in the city. No mad scramble for people to get out, no one is panicking or rushing to stalk up on supplies. They don’t even really notice the aftershocks much since they’re used to getting 5 and 6 scale earthquakes on a regular basis in the city.
